What does the outreach fee cover?
Your outreach fee covers your food, lodging, outreach training and materials, transportat and T-shirt.
What are the accommodations like?
Limited space is available in a dormitory-type setting as well as small cabins with shared shower and bathroom space. You will need to provide bedding and a towel. Laundry services are available.
Will I get training in evangelism?
Yes. Even if you have never shared your faith and are fearful about talking with strangers, you will receive training as part of your outreach prep. You will never be alone when sharing the gospel with others as we follow the model of Jesus when He sent out His disciples in teams.
What will I be doing on the outreach?
When we are at the Fair Park Fan Festival on outreach days, we will always be in teams. Some people will be giving out tracts, others will be distributing bottled water, others will be praying for people, some will be singing songs to God while others will be talking with people. There will be opportunities for everyone to do things they are comfortable with as well as to be stretched outside their comfort zone.
When is the outreach application deadline?
Approximately one month before the start of each outreach. The deadline for the June 14-21, 2026 outreach is Friday, May 15, 2026. The deadline for the June 27-July 4, 2026 outreach is Friday, May 29. We have accommodation for up to 200 people for each outreach. Applications will be reviewed and processed in the order they are received. For people who only wish to join us on outreach days, payment and arrangement needs to be made a minimum of 7 days beforehand.
Does the outreach cost include a ticket to watch a game at the stadium?
No. We will be going to the Fair Park Fan Festival to share the gospel. The Fan Festival will draw 35,000 fans daily, with additional activities throughout the Park. We will have lots of opportunities to share the gospel before and after each match. If you want to watch a game on the Jumbotron at Fair Park, you are welcome to do so. There is no cost.
What do the outreach days look like?
On the days we travel to Fair Park Fan Festival, we will arrive in plenty of time to set up and get organized. We will then divide into teams and receive instructions as to what we will be doing and where to meet up afterwards. There will be multiple ways we will be sharing the gospel with people and opportunities for people to try more than one thing.
Can I come for just one day? If so, what is the cost?
Yes. Participants who come for one day only will be required to sign an insurance liability insurance release. If you arrange to meet us at the outreach site, your daily cost is $49. This covers food, tracts and water bottles to give away. If you travel with us to/from our training center to the outreach site, the cost for one day is $79. Payment and arrangements must be made 7 days in advance if you want to join us.
How does transportation work?
It is ideal for people to come with a church group rather than coming as individuals. If you come with a church group, we strongly encourage people to come in their own personal or church vehicles. If you drive to the outreach site in a church vehicle, we will cover your gas and parking costs. We will likely need to park away from Fair Park and walk to the outreach site. We will drop people off as close as possible and then go and park the vehicles.
I am 14 years old. Can I take part in the outreach?
No. The minimum age to take part in the outreach is 16. Due to being outdoors all day on match days with large crowds, this outreach is not designed for young children. Rather, it is for teenagers ages 16 and above, and for adults who are physically and spiritually mature enough to spend hours engaged in reaching people with the gospel and/or serving in practical ways to help meet the needs of the team.
Can families attend?
Yes. Special accommodations will have to be made in terms of housing, transportation and outreach teams so the number of families who can participate will be determined on a case-by-case basis. If you have a child under 16 years of age who you wish to incorporate as part of your family outreach, we are open to that.
Do I need insurance?
As this is a domestic outreach, any health or medical concerns should be made by the person involved and/or their legal guardian. All vehicles and drivers will be insured and each outreach participant will be asked to sign a waiver exempting YWAM Tyler from liability. Whether you have personal health insurance or not, YWAM Tyler will not be held liable for any medical or hospital costs you may incur.
Can churches be involved besides sending teams and individuals?
YES! While we are thrilled to have youth and adult groups join in reaching out to share the gospel with people from all over the world during the World Cup outreaches, there are other ways churches can be involved to help. Some of these include providing transportation, sponsoring the printing of World Cup tracts, sponsoring the wrapped water bottles we will be giving away, and joining us in prayer and providing follow-up to people who make decisions for Christ.
